Actress Janet Julian

If you watched a lot of television in the seventies, you may remember Janet Julian.

She replaced Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy Drew in the ABC television version of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mystery novel series, although the show was not faithful to the original books.  (The Hardy Boys episodes never had Frank and Joe's buddy Chet Morton.)

She only ended up doing four episodes before the series ended in 1978, then she went on to play Lieutenant Brie in the Star Wars-inspired TV series "Battlestar Galactica," again for only four episodes.

For the next several years, Ms. Julian would mostly play minor one-shot roles in TV shows, along with small movie roles.  Her most substantial movie part was as as assistant sports agent Dalton Ellis in the 1991 film Heaven Is a Playground.

In 1995, however, Ms. Julian left acting behind to raise a family and later become an educator specializing in educating parents on how to raise their own children.  She known today by her married name, Janet Lansbury.

Fun fact: Janet Julian's husband Michael is the nephew of Angela Lansbury (a earlier honoree on this blog).
