Ms. Hill started out an CNN's Headline News channel in 2003 and hosted news programs there while also contributing to CNN itself. She left for CBS in 2010 and was a co-anchor of its morning-news program. Eventually, she left to join NBC to become a national news correspondent and also host the network's "Weekend Today" program. "Erica's extraordinary track record as a journalist has proven that she can cover everything from hard news to pop culture with ease and professionalism," NBC News president Steve Capus said when she joined the network in 2012.
Ms. Hill left NBC in 2016, rejoining CNN's Headline News and, eventually, joining CNN itself at the end of the 2010s.
