She's best known for roles in popcorn movies such as Dodgeball in 2004 and as Violet Beauregarde's mother in the 2005 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as appearing in the Archie Comics-based movie Josie and the Pussycats as Alexandra Cabot - Josie's rich-bitch nemesis.
More recently, Ms. Pyle starred in 2016's Captain Fantastic - not about Elton John but about a left-wing anarchist family trying to re-integrate itself into society. She's also played numerous one-shot roles on TV shows too numerous to list here.
Fun fact: Also a talented singer, Missi Pyle formed a country-rock music duo, Smith & Pyle, with actress Shawnee Smith.
