Actress Erin Moriarty

Not  Erin Moriarty the reporter, whom I've already featured here.  This is Erin Moriarty the actress.

Erin Moriarty is best known for her role as Anne January in The Boys," an Amazon Prime Video series about rival gangs of superheroes.  As the superhero Starlight, Annie is a member of the corrupt, selfish group the Seven before joining force with the Boys, a more enlightened gang.

Ms. Moriarty first gained notice in the 2013 movie The Kings of Summer, about a young man who's trying to break free from his father's influence; she played the young man's girlfriend Kelly.  She received good notices for her work in 2016's Blood Father, in which she played a young woman in trouble with her boyfriend's crime gang after accidentally killing him in a botched operation. She depends on her father, played by Mel Gibson, to protect her.

Another 2016 movie Ms. Moriarty appeared in was Captain Fantastic, a movie not about Elton John but about a left-wing anarchist family who have to re-integrate themselves into society after living off the grid for so long.

Ms. Moriarty is now heavily involved in "The Boys," but it likely won't be long before we see her in a movie again.
