Actress Amber Stevens West

Amber Stevens West is another young actress who's left an impression on TV in recent years.

She first came to people's attention in the fraternity-sorority comedy/drama show "Greek," as student Ashleigh Howard.  It aired on on ABC Family (now Freeform) for four years beginning in 2007.  More recently, she starred as Maxine in the NBC sitcom "The Carmichael Show,"a fictional spin on comedian Jerrod Carmichael's real life (the same idea behind "Seinfeld"), from 2015 to 2017, and she played restaurant and bar designer Claire Davis opposite Damon Wayans Jr. on the CBS sitcom "Happy Together." The series followed a young couple whose lives become  chaotic when - I kid you not - about this plotline - a pop star moves into their home.  Perhaps that's why it only lasted one season.

Ms. Stevens West has also appeared in movies, such as franchise films such as 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man .  In 2012, she also appeared in The Kitchen, as a friend of a woman dreading her thirtieth birthday, and she also appeared in the 2014 horror movie Jessabelle.

Amber Stevens West is the daughter of radio personality Shadoe Stevens, who is white, and model Beverly Cunningham, who is black, which accounts for her exotic looks.  Had her father not given her his stage surname, she would have been named Amber Ingstad.  She became Amber Stevens West when she married her "Greek" co-star Andrew West.
