Karyn Greer has had a long career in Atlanta newscasting.
She currently appears as the anchor of the twelve o'clock news report at the city's CBS affiliate, WGNX-TV.
Ms. Greer worked for CBS in the late 1990s and became a morning-news host for WXIA-TV, Atlanta's NBC affiliate, from 2000 to 2015. She became the afternoon anchor for WGNX-TV in September 2019.
Like most local TV news personalities, Ms. Greer is active in her community, promoting early breast cancer detection and currently serving on the National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences' board of governors, as well as being a member of several Greater Atlanta charity organizations.
Fun fact: Karyn Greer's current employer, WGNX-TV, broadcasts on Channel 46 in Atlanta. While network affiliates broadcasting on UHF stations are not unheard of, network affiliates broadcasting on UHF stations in major-league cities like Atlanta - which has big-league teams in all five stick-and-ball sports and hosted the 1996 Olympics - are rare.
