Although she's appeared in movies and TV shows, Megan Hilty is best known as an actress of the theater - mainly Broadway musicals. Ironically, she appeared in "Smash," a TV show about a Broadway musical.
She played Glinda in the Broadway production of Wicked, as well as in other productions of the musical, as well as Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Her other well-known Broadway role is in a musical based on movies - harassed secretary Doralee Rhodes in 9 to 5.
More recently, in 2018, Ms. Hilty has played Audrey in a Washington, D.C. production of the musical Little Shop of Horrors, another movie-based musical. On TV she played country singer Patsy Cline in Patsy & Loretta, a basic-cable-television film about Cline and Loretta Lynn.
Like most musical actresses, Ms. Hilty has recorded an LP. Her album It Happens All the Time was released in 2013.
