Caitriona Balfe is an Irish actress currently appearing in one of the hottest TV shows on the air.
She plays Claire Randall in the romantic time-travel series "Outlander," a British nurse in World War II who gets transported back to mid-eighteenth-century Scotland, where she falls in love with a dashing Scottish warrior and uses her modern nursing skills and her knowledge of what's yet to come in a world two hundred years removed from her own experiences.
Ms. Balfe has also been in several movies, having played the wife of an insurance magnate who uses magicians to rob banks in the 2013 thriller movie Now You Se Me and having also played the wife of a face car driver in the period movie Ford v. Ferrari, the story of Ford's legendary development of the GT40 race car and its race against Ferrari at the 1966 LeMans race.
Ms. Balfe just turned 41 yesterday (October 4), so she still has a long career ahead of her. The Irish Times called her "Ireland’s secret A-lister."
