Hungary's Barbara Palvin isn't part of the golden-age generation in modeling, but she might be one of those models who could bring back a second golden age.
Discovered in Budapest at the age of thirteen, Ms. Palvin has gone on to have a distinguished modeling career as an adult. Here are just some of her many creidts: the covers of L'Officiel in five different countries (specifically, France, Russia, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore), the covers of Marie Claire in Italy and her native Hungary, the covers of Elle in Great Britain, Italy, Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Sweden, Serbia, and Hungary, and Harper's Bazaar.
Never mind the dearth of American cover credits; Ms. Palvin is in demand here, so much that she lives in Brooklyn now. She has been a "spokesmodel ambassador" for L'Oréal and got into the 2016 annual edition of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, andshe also got to be the spokesmodel for. Giorgio Armani's Acqua di Gioia perfume. As far as her runway credits are concerned, well, there are way too many of those to list here.
Ms. Palvin (above at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival) does not have the traditional figure for a model, and she is considered a standard bearer toward the trend to feature women in modeling with more realistic measurements. :-)
