Sherie Rene Scott has been a mainstay in New York musical theater since the early 1990s.
The Kentucky-born Ms. Scott has starred in some of the biggest Broadway productions in recent history, one of her earliest roles being in the stage version of the Who's Tommy, playing Sally Simpson, the girl who falls for Tommy even though she knew from the start, deep down in her heart, that she and Tommy were worlds apart.
Never mind, Ms. Scott, your part is to be what you'll be. :-)
And she would be a lot of things, playing a lot of roles, such as Marty Maraschino (like the cherry) in the revival of Grease (well, actually, it had more to do with the movie than with the original 1972 musical), Maureen Johnson in Rent, and Amneris in Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida. She even played the villainous sea witch Ursula in the stage production of The Little Mermaid.
Sherie Rene Scott continues to be active in New York theater, having recently branched out from musicals to comedy by playing Mollie Mallow in a 2016-17 revival of Hecht and MacArthur's The Front Page.
