Because she played one of the original female characters on "Charlie's Angels" - she played Kelly Garrett - Jaclyn Smith may not be taken seriously by many as an actress. That would be a mistake.
She went on to play some really substantial roles in TV movies - historical figures, in fact. She played Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in a TV movie of the same title and also played George Washington's ladyfriend Sally Fairfax, whom Washington wrote letters to even after he married Martha Custis, in a miniseries about the first U.S. President. (There is no - no - proof that Washington ever consummated his relationship with Sally Fairfax.)
Ms. Smith also played a more substantial TV detective, Christine Cromwell, in a series of TV mystery movies. She has played guest roles in more recent TV shows.
