The Beauty of Retrospect: Special Birthday Post! Isabella Rossellini!

I have to interrupt my current A-Z round of fresh subjects to revisit Isabella Rossellini on her sixtieth birthday today.

Actress, filmmaker, producer, model - Isabella Rossellini has been all of these.  The daughter of Italian movie director Roberto Rossellini and Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman did indeed become famous as a model first - for Lancôme cosmetics, although she wsa dropped in 1996 for being "too old" at 44 (doesn't that want to make you throw up?).

Thankfully, she's excelled in her family's business, gaining notoriety for movie roles such as Blue Velvet and Death Becomes Her (although Big Night is probably my favorite movie with Isabella Rossellini in it).

She's also produced a series of short films about the sexual behavior of animals, Green Porno.  (Nudge nudge, wink wink!)

Although visibly older at sixty, Isabella Rossellini is still visibly beautiful.  And the people at Lancôme must have been out of their cotton-picking minds to let her go.
