Just a few pictures of models I featured before to close out February . . .
Aria, whom I first featured back in June 2012, is a popular model from the 1980s who almost became a police officer in her native New York City; she was accidentally discovered when she accompanied a friend to an open modeling call.
Born Valeria Riccardo, Aria not only did several magazine covers and Avon catalogs, she posed for high-profile designers like Christian Dior (above) and Ralph Lauren (below), where, as one of the first black female models for Lauren's Polo brand, she made the preppy-casual look cool.
In fact, I would say she's as beautiful as that other single-named Ralph Lauren lady. 😊 (Clotilde, of course.)
