The Beauty of Dance, Part Nine: Elena Bottaro, Vienna State Ballet

Elena Bottaro is a soloist for the Vienna State Ballet.

The Italian-born Ms. Bottaro received her training at the Scuola di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala, and she joined the Vienna State Ballet, in 2014.  She became a demis-solist in 2017 and, two years after, a full soloist.

Among her roles are the title role and Peasant Pas de deux in Giselle, Swanilda and Aurora in Coppélia,  Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Olga in John Crankos' Onegin, Henriette in Nureyev’s Raymonda, Archduchess Marie Valerie in Kenneth MacMillan’s Mayerling, and too many more to list here.

PBS shows performances from the Vienna State Ballet in its annual broadcast of the Vienna Philharmonic's New Years' Day concert, so you might see her on television a month from now.
