The Beauty of Dance, Part Nine: Aoi Fujiwara, Houston Ballet, Houston, TX

Aoi Fujiwara comes to the Houston Ballet from Osaka Japan, where she began her training at the age of three.

She began her career with the Houston Ballet as an apprentice in 2014 and  was a Corps de Ballet member for four years beginning in 2015 before becoming a demi-soloist.  She has been a soloist since September 2022 (three months as of this writing).

Ms. Fujiwara has danced in numerous ballets, including Romeo and Juliet, Paquita, The Sleeping Beauty, Jerome Robbins’ The Concert and The Cage,  and Peter Pan (as Wendy). Plus too many more to list here.  She likely to become a principal dancer in short order.
