She was a nursing student in her home town of Amsterdam when she was discovered. Karl Lagerfeld put her on one of his fashion shows almost immediately, but she wasn't able to perfect a convincing walk on her first go-around. Ironically, her lack of experience was what made a lot of fashion writers like her.
Ms. Wetzel has also done fashion shows for Escada, Roberto Cavalli, Bill Blass, Herve Leger, and Paco Rabanne, among others, and her magazine cover credits include Madame Figaro in France
Cosmopolitan in the U.K., Shape and Glamour in the U.S., Elle in France, Spain and Russia, and too many more to list here.
