TV personality Kelly Choi

Hosts of PBS news and documentary programs aren't known for looking like movie stars, which makes Kelly Choi's presence on public television quite notable. 😊

The Seoul-born Ms. Choi got her bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary and received her master's degree from Columbia and joined what's now known as NYC Media, the municipal public television service of New York City, in 2004.

She went on to host three seasons of the nationally distributed PBS series "Secrets of New York," a series looking at various aspects of New York's History and concentrating on little-known and eye-opening facts.  She also hosted a weekly program about New York's restaurants, "Eat Out NY."

Kelly Choi has also been involved in commercial television, having been a guest judge on the Food Network's "Iron Chef" and having hosted the James Beard Awards, considered to be the food and restaurant industry's equivalent of the Academy Awards.

Fun fact: She's gotten three local-Emmy nominations in the New York City market.
