She is best known for playing two musical characters named Velma - Velma Kelly as a replacement cast member in the ongoing Broadway production of Chicago and Velma (no surname given) in the 2003-04 musical Never Gonna Dance, based on the songs of Jerome Kern.
Ms. Goodwin has also had minor Broadway roles in productions of Dreamgirls and Nine.
