Maya Hawke is modern Hollywood royalty.
She is the daughter of actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman (her mom is an earlier honoree on this blog), and she has struck out for an acting career of her own.
She made a big impression as Jo March in the BBC's production of Louisa May Alcott classic novel Little Women.
Since then, Ms. Hawke has slowly built up her CV. She played a member of the Manson family in Quentin Tarantino's alternate-history movie Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. More recently, she has play a recurring role as a girl working in an ice cream parlor in "Stranger Things," a Netflix sci-fi/horror series about a government laboratory secretly conducting experiments n the supernatural phenomena in the 1980s.
One of Ms. Hawke's more recent roles was a supporting part in Italian Studies, about a writer dealing with memory loss while in New York City. It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival June 2021 and opened to a wider audience in January 2022.
