Taylor Schilling is a TV star without a lot of people knowing about her. That's because not everyone subscribes to Netflix.
She played Piper Chapman in the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," about doing time in a women's prison. Ms. Schilling's character was based on the real-life Piper Kerman, the author of the book of the same name as the TV series, which inspired the show. Kerman did time in jail because of her involvement un drug smuggling. The series ran for six years beginning in 2013.
Ms. Schilling has appeared in movies as well, including 2012's Argo, about the daring rescue of Americans from revolutionary Iran; 2013's Stay, about a troubled young woman who falls in love with her onetime college professor; 2017's Take Me, a screwball comedy about people who pay to be victims of simulated kidnappings, and: 2019's The Prodigy, a horror film about a boy possessed by the soul of a serial killer.
