Aubrey Plaza is a comedienne who has worked in television and movies, but she's best known for her work in the former medium.
She played April Ludgate, a low-key, apathetic college student, in the NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation." April started out an intern with the Pawnee Department of Parks and Recreation, going on to serve as an assistant to department director Ron Swanson, played by Nick Offerman. Ms. Plaza's deadpan approach to the role made her a favorite case member among the show's fans.
Ms. Plaza has also appeared in "Portlandia," a sketch series satirizing hipster culture in Portland, Oregon. Among her films, she's won acclaim for her role as slacker party girl Tatiana in Mike and Dave Need Dates, from 2016, and at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, she got praise for her performance in the title role of Life After Beth, a comedy about a girl named Beth, played by Ms. Plaza, who returns from the dead. Its screenplay was written by her boyfriend Jeff Baena.
Fun fact: Aubrey Plaza was named after this song from the early seventies.
A not-so-very ordinary girl or name, but who's to blame? :-)
