Australian actress Bella Heathcote

Bella Heathcote is the latest Wonder from Down Under among Hollywood starlets.

The Melbourne-born actress got her first big break in Hollywood by being cast in three roles in the movie adaptation of the vampire TV series "Dark Shadows," directed by auteur terrifiant Tim Burton.  While not a big success in the United States, it was a big hit in other countries.

The Dark Shadows movie proved to be her big break, as it led to her being cast as the girlfriend of an aspiring rocker in 2012's Not Fade Away, a movie about a rock band in sixties suburban New jersey trying to make it big.  It was directed  by "Sopranos" creator David Chase.

Her more recent films have included 2014's The Rewrite, starring Hugh Grant as a frustrated screenwriter who teaches at a college; Ms. Heathcote played a college student who has a brief relationship with Grant's character. and 2015's The Curse of Downers Grove, about a cures in a Chicago suburb in which a high school senior dies every year; Ms. Heathcote plays a character skeptical of a curse who disregards it as a coincidence.

Ms. Heathcote's greatest fame, though, came in 2017 through starring in Fifty Shades Darker, the second chapter in the popular Fifty Shades erotic romantic trilogy, and as Olive Byrne, who partly inspired  Wonder Woman, in Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, a film chronicling the creation of the DC Comics superheroine.

Is she the next Margot Robbie?  No, she's the current Bella Heathcote.  And at 33 years of age as of this writing, she is definitely in her way to being a big name in this century.  Just like Margot Robbie. :-)
