Sportscaster Maria Taylor

Maria Taylor is a refreshing change from the stereotype of sportscasters as crotchety white men who chomp on their cigars.

And it's obvious that she doesn't smoke. ;-)

Maria Taylor is an analyst with ESPN and its sister channel the SEC Network, which covers intercollegiate athletics in the NCAA's Southeastern Conference.  Ms. Taylor has some personal experience in that field; she attended the University of Georgia on an athletic scholarship and played volleyball and basketball there. She also played on the U.S. Volleyball Junior National A2 team and was instrumental for a bronze-medal victory in the Open Division of the U.S. Volleyball Championships.

So it;s no surprise that Ms. Taylor covers college volleyball and college men's and women's basketball for ESPN and the SEC Network.  But she also covers the NCAA's football program, which keeps her busy all the way through New Year's Day. ;-)
