Hayley Lewis is a champion swimmer who competed for Australia at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, winning gold medals there in the 200-meter and 400-meter women's freestyle, the 200-meter butterfly, the 400-meter individual medley and the 4x200-meter freestyle relay. She repeated her success at the 200-meter freestyle the following year (1991) at the World Championships in Perth.
Afterward, Hayley Lewis concentrated on the 800-meter freestyle race and winning the the silver medal in that event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, one of three Olympiads in which she competed.
Because Australia is a huge swimming country, a place where swimmers are big celebrities in the same way that basketball players are famous in America, Hayley Lewis is still a big name in Australia. She hosts that country's version of the weight-loss reality show "The Biggest Loser."
