Jennifer Lawrence, easily one of the hottest properties in Hollywood, is only 22 years old as of this writing. But she's already guaranteed to receive a Lifetime Achievement Oscar fifty years from now.
She's already won a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Tiffany Maxwell in the warm comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook. :-) In that movie, she plays a neighbor of a young man with bipolar disorder (played by Bradley Cooper), and she encourages him to participate with her in a dance competition while waiting for him to realize that he loves her. :-)
Ms. Lawrence first gained notoriety for playing high school student Lauren Pearson on "The Bill Engvall Show," a TBS sitcom about a family counselor who can't relate to his own family. Her breakthrough on the big screen came when she starred in The Hunger Games, based on the first in a series of novels by Suzanne Collins.
Ms. Lawrence plays The Hunger Games' chief protagonist, Katniss Everdeen. Katinss lives in a futuristic dystopian world and is forced into the mortal combat competition alluded to in the title of the movie. (She wins.) Ms. Lawrence reprises the role of Katniss in the sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, opening in November 2013.
With another movie she's in - American Hustle, based on the Abscam affair of the late seventies, and slated for a December 2013 release - Jennifer Lawrence has made it clear that she's here to stay. :-)
