So much has been made of Diana Ross's ego and vanity (a lot of it overblown, no doubt), that it's easy to forget she's one of the greatest singers Motown ever produced. Not to mention one of Motown's most glamorous stars.
Diana Ross's story is almost like a fairy tale. At sixteen, she was working as a salesgirl in Hudson's Department Store in Detroit. At twenty, she was singing lead in the Supremes and already a star. By the time her solo career began in 1970, she was already a legend.
