Jessie Mueller is an actress known primarily for her roles in Broadway musicals.
She was born and raised in Evanston Illinois, just outside Chicago. She started her career in that city and won two Joseph Jefferson Awards in 2008 and 2011, respectively, for her roles as Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel and Amalia Balash in She Loves Me. Later, after Ms. Mueller relocated to New York City, she would reprise her role as Carrie in a Lincoln Center production of Carousel but would also play Julie Jordan in another production of Carousel at the Imperial Theatre.
Ms. Mueller is best known for playing Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and also as master pie baker Jenna Hunterson in the musical version of Waitress.
