Debra Shaw is a model from Philadelphia who found herself starting her illustrious career by entering a "Model Of the Year" pageant that won her first prize . . . a trip to Paris.
She quickly became one of the most sought-after runway models in the world and was active throughout the 1990s and 2000s. She modeled for Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and then Dior with Gianfranco Ferré. Ambitious as she was, Ms. Shaw even got runway jobs with John Galliano and Versace by crashing their shows!
Her exotic beauty and her flair have made her a legend in the modeling profession, and she is very supportive of the young women who follow her into her vocation.

"The girls need to express themselves," she says of today's runway models. "The designers want the girls to be more expressive. It is important that the models show their personalities through performance. It’s time to return to that format; looking back as a way of moving forward."
