Actress Jorja Fox

The TV series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" led to a few spinoffs, but Jorja Fox can lay claim to being part of the original show.  "CSI" is what made her a star.

She played Sara Sidle, a forensic scientist tormented by memories of her past and unsuccessful relationships in her present.  Ms. Fox left the show for two years beginning in 2007, but returned to it and stayed through the end of its run in 2015. ("CSI" debuted in the year 2000.)

In the early nineties, Ms. Fox  got her first break on the ABC police drama "Missing Persons" as a police officer, but it only ran for seventeen episodes.  However, she went on to play a doctor named Maggie Doyle on the NBC hospital drama "ER" from 1996 to 1999. It got her attention.  It got her notoriety.  It got her her "CSI" part. :-)

Fun fact:  In between "ER" and "CSI," Ms. Fox had a recurring role as Secret Service agent Gina Toscano in the NBC political drama "The West Wing," a show not known by initials.  ;-)
