The Beauty of Dance, Part Five: Tamako Miyazaki, Washington Ballet, Washington, DC

Tamako Miyazaki come to Washington by way of Tokyo . . .and Columbia, South Carolina.

She joined the Washington Ballet at the beginning of the 2014-15 season after having danced with Columbia Classical Ballet. A graduate of the prestigious La Scala Ballet Academy, she performed principal roles such as Medora in Le Corsaire, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, and pas de trois in Swan Lake.

With that sort of résumé in her favor, Ms. Miyasaki, having been raised in Japan's capital city, is certain to be a prominent fixture of the cultural life of America's capital city. :-)
