Gwen Torrence was a dominant track star in the late eighties and early nineties, and the press made her out to be a natural rival to Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Here's Ms. Torrence doing what she did so well.
She won the Olympic gold medal in Barcelona in 1992 for the 200-meter dash and another for the 4x100m relay. At Atlanta she won another gold in the same relay race but had to settle for bronze in the 100-meter dash.
Gwen Torrence has since retired from track and now works as - what else? - a beautician! :-)
