It's been said that American public television would have little original programming if the British didn't speak English. That's fine, because if not for Britcoms on PBS, we'd have never heard of Moira Brooker.
Ms. Brooker played Judith, the dishy daughter of Jean Hardcastle, on the BBC comedy/drama "As Time Goes By." When not working for her mother in her mum's secretarial agency or dealing with the amorous attentions of London yuppie Alistair Deacon, Judith regularly advised her mum on affairs of the heart, before and after Jean married her long lost beau from her youth.
