Ms, Asmann could afford to be lustily sultry for French audiences, but in America in 1981 - where a return to measured prudishness had been ushered in at the ballot box in the most recent federal elections - she had to tone it down somewhat, as this sleepwear picture for a fashion editorial in the special August 30, 1981 edition of the New York Times Sunday magazine demonstrates.
