Susan Scannell is one of many actresses who started out as a model, having been represented by Eileen Ford's modeling agency.
She made it as an actress in the genre of daytime dramas (I can't call them "soap operas," or I'll owe Ms. Marshall a quarter 😊). She played two characters in as many daytime series in three years: Becky Hewitt on the syndicated series "Another Life" from 1981 to 1982 and Kristin Carter on CBS's "Search for Tomorrow "from 1982 to 1984. Ms. Scannell would also appear on "Ryan's Hope" (playing two different roles!), "One Life To Live," and "All My Children" On prime time television, she played Nicole Simpson De Vilbis Colby on "Dynasty" from 1984 to 1985 and also appeared on the NBC shows "The A-Team" and "Remington Steele."
Ms. Scannell left Hollywood and television behind and moved to Astoria, Queens, and she founded Astoria Performing Arts and served as its executive director. She moved to Massachusetts in 2006, where, with her husband, former television writer and producer Robert Gilbert, she founded Gilbert Entertainment, a film and theater production company.
.
Fun fact: Ms. Scannell met her husband at a gas station.
