She played Bemidji, Minnesota police deputy Molly Solverson in the first season of the TV series "Fargo," based on the 1996 Coen Brothers movie of the same title. Molly was instrumental in solving murder cases in Bemidji and was promoted to police chief at the end of the season. Ms. Tolman received nearly universal accolades from critics for her performance.
She also starred as Alma Filcott, a late-1940s housewife who tries to join a gradden club to get noticed and ends up killing the garden club president in the Parmount+ series "Why Women Kill."
Ms. Tolman has also played ephemeral roles in various TV shows.
