The Beauty of Retrospect: Chris Royer Week, Part Five

For my last post devoted to Chris Royer, here's our heroine looking demure, and also rather humble.

Humility becomes Ms. Royer, especially when you are asked to spend a year archiving the work of the designer you served as a muse for, as happened when a company acquired the Halston brand (Halston himself died in 1990 of AIDS-related complications).  She happily accepted.

Today, Chris Royer is president of her own consulting firm, CRC, which helps clients with strategic licensing and marketing Among her clients have been designer Betsey Johnson and companies such as  M.A.C. Cosmetics and Conair,  She has also consulted on projects for The Costume Institute at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology, as well as for several books and documentaries about - you guessed it - Halston.

And you thought she was just another pretty face!

Well, I don't blame you, with wonderful headshots like the two below.

Both are from the July 1975 issue of the U.S. edition of Vogue.

Chris Royer has her own YouTube channel with videos about Halston (yes, she discussed him in the videos, so you can hear the goddess speak!).  If you're interested, click here.

And that's it for Chris Royer.  Next up - Tara Shannon.
