The Beauty Of Anonymity, Model ID Update: Niki Taylor!

Before I start another A-Z round on this blog, I have an update on an unidentified model . . .

Back in March 2022, I posted a picture of an unidentified model from a Talbot ad I found. It turns out to be none other than  nineties supermodel Niki Taylor, whom I'd never featured here before.

I'm sort of embarrassed that I didn't recognize her.

Ms. Taylor is best known for, in 1992, becoming the first minor (as in under 18) spokesmodel to sign a contract with the Cover Girl cosmetics brand, and the exposure in its advertising campaign made her a star in the modeling world. Ms. Taylor would go on to other ad campaigns for fashion brands such as Escada, Liz Claiborne, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Anne Klein, as well as for the cosmetics brand L'Oréal and the hair-care brand Pantene.

Magazine covers?  Yes.  In May 1996, at the mere age of twenty, Ms. Taylor appeared on the covers of the six major American women's fashion and fitness magazines simultaneously: Allure, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Self, and Shape. This feat was named the "Niki Six," a pun on the name of Mötley Crüe's bass player. Soon after that, she appeared in the 1997 and 1998 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

After taking a break from modeling, Ms. Taylor returned to the profession in 2016, doing several magazines and, as you already know, ads.  She became a Cover Girl spokesmodel gain in April 2021.

Thanks to Barry Weinbaum for recognizing Ms. Taylor in the Talbot ad. 😊

Right . . . back soon with a new A-Z round.
