Tess Harper is an actress who has been active since the early eighties.
She first came to prominence in the 1983 movie Tender Mercies as Rosa Lee, the owner of a motel out in the middle of the Texas prairie who takes in a washed-up alcoholic country singer (played by Robert Duvall). She would later have supporting roles in 1983's Silkwood and 1986's Crimes Of the Heart.
Among more more recent roles f note are as the mother of a tomboy teenage girl coming of age in 1991's The Man in the Moon and as the wife of a sheriff hunting a serial killer in 2007's No Country For Old Men.
Ms. Harper has had numerous one-time roles in television over the years, but she's best known on TV in the recurring role of Diane Pinkman, the mother of a drug-addicted meth dealer and producer in "Breaking Bad." (She was on in the show's first three seasons, from 2008 to 2010.) Faced with the prospect of she and her husband being kicked out of their home, Diane has her house saved in the most unusual way.
