Actress Kathryn Newton

Kathryn Newton a young actress who has been around for longer than you might think.

She first came to many TV viewers as Louise, the pert daughter of Gary and Allison Brooks in the CBS sitcom "Gary Unmarried," about a divorced dad trying to move on from his marriage while still being a father his his children.  The show lasted for two years beginning in 2008.

She later played Claire Novak, a possessed young woman, in the dark-fantasy drama "Supernatural" in six episodes, and she also played Joanie Clark in ten episodes of "Halt and Catch Fire," a drama set in the 1980s about the rise of personal computers.

More recently, Ms. Newton has played movie roles in films such as 2017's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, in which she played a murder victim whose death is publicized on billboards by her mother (played by Frances McDormand) and 2021's streaming film The Map of Tiny Perfect Things, in which she plays a teenager stuck with her boyfriend in a time loop and like in the 1993 classic Groundhog Day, relives the same day over and over again.  She got better reviews than the movie.  In between, she played Ann March in a miniseries adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women.

Expect Kathryn Newton to rack up more great performances, as she's only 25 at this writing.

Fun fact: Kathryn Newton began acting at the age of four on the ABC soap opera "All My Children."
