She's best known in Britain as the star and co-writer of "Pulling," a sitcom about three best friends who are mismatched in outlook and temperament. She played Donna, an office worker who is engaged and has to deal with her friends' personality quirks. Only thirteen episodes of "Pulling" aired between 2006 and 2009.
In 2015, Ms. Horgan began another sitcom in the U.K. - "Catastrophe," about an Irishwoman who works as a schoolteacher and her fling with an American advertising executive - which leads to her pregnancy and her ultimate pairing with the Yankee ad man. It ran until 2019. Ms. Horgan was a co-writer for both "Pulling" and "Catastrophe."
While "Catastrophe" was on the air on Britain's Channel 4, Ms. Horgan also created the HBO series "Divorce," which ran from 2016 to 2019, but did not appear in it. "Divorce" concerned a woman who has an affair with another man, which leads to her divorce; Sarah Jessica Parker, an earlier on this blog starred.
Ms. Horgan has also appeared in many movies, including Death of a Superhero, 2011 a drama film of a talented teenage cartoonist who is terminally ill and draws a comic strip about an invincible superhero.
