Margaret Qualley started out as a model and became an actress. Just like her mother, Andie MacDowell (an earlier honoree on this blog).
Ms. Qualley got her first big break as an actress with a small part in Gia Coppola's film Palo Alto, which led to a starring role in "The Leftovers," an HBO thriller series about people dealing with the sudden disappearance of two percent of the earth's population. She played Jill Garvey, a troubled teenager who had trouble coping with the aftermath of the disappearance.
This led to more roles for Ms. Qualley, including that of Alexandra, a literary agent's daughter who has an affair with the title character of 2017's The Vanishing Sidney Hall, about an offbeat writer. Her biggest commercial success, though, has been a role as a member of the Manson Family in Quentin Tarantino's 2019 alternate-history movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
At 26 years of age as of this writing, Margaret Qualley is definitely destined for greater movie roles - like her mom. 😊
