TV newswoman Lesli Foster

Leslie Foster reports on TV from the nation's' capital, but unless you live there or in its Maryland or Virginia suburbs, you've probably never heard of her.


She's the weeknight anchor for the news report on WUSA-TV, the CBS affiliate of Washington, D.C.  She made her way there from her home state in Michigan, starting out there as a a report for NBC affiliate WEYI-TV in Flint, then moving to WBAL-TV in Baltimore.

Ms. Foster's career includes distinguished reports on gas tank fires in Jeep vehicles, a series on the AIDS virus, and the influence of Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas.  Her work at WUSA-TV earned her an  Emmy Award for Best News Anchor in the Washington, D.C. market in 2012, and the stories referred to on this blog post each got earned her an Associated Press Award.
