Sportscaster Carolyn Manno

Carolyn Manno is part of a new generation of young female sportscasters.


She covered a wide range of assignments for NBC Sports and its sister cable channel, NBCSN before joining CNN.

Ms. Manno hosted "NASCAR America" on NBCSN and is an anchor for NBC's "Sports Update Desk," and she has been a reporter covering the NFL on NBC's "Football Night In America" the Triple Crown horse racing, and an anchor for NBC's Sports Update Desk.

Carolyn Manno also helped cover the Olympics for NBC, covering freestyle skiing at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, and she handled anchoring duties during NBCSN's late-night and morning coverage at Pyeongchang Winter Games in 2018, along with hosting duties at the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016.

Ms. Manno cut her teeth as a sports reporter by working three years in South Bend, Indiana, covering both National Football League teams for Indianapolis and Chicago, both of Chicago's Major League Baseball teams, and, of course, Notre Dame and the Indianapolis 500.  Her work there earned her  where she covered the Notre Dame Fighting Irish; the Chicago Bears, Cubs and White Sox; the Indianapolis Colts; and the Indy 500. While there, she won the  Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Journalism and an Indiana Spectrum Award for journalistic excellence.
