Allison Volk is a Los Angeles-based actress you may not have heard of just yet, but you will likely hear more about her soon.
She's not just an actress. She also writes screenplays, and she co-founded a theater group, The City Shakespeare Company in Santa Monica, California. But her main passion is film, and she works primarily in the indie circuit. She was a cast member in the two most recent movies she wrote - 2015's Innocent Sleep, about a monarchy with a Lady Macbeth-type military wife who convinces her husband to assassinate the king at a state dinner, and 2018's black comedy Deany Bean Is Dead, in which a woman down on her luck tries goes to her ex-boyfriend's engagement party to win him back . . . while trying to hide the fact that her her recently murdered boss is in the trunk of her car!
As for mainstream Hollywood, Allison Volk has had less success. She appeared in The Lone Ranger - the 2013 version starring Johnny Depp as Tonto, the one everyone hated - and so she likely leaves that credit off her résumé. No matter - she's filling her résumé on her own terms.
