I've featured many an on-camera meteorologist from The Weather Channel - Vivian Brown, no longer with the channel, was the second woman I ever featured on this blog, in fact - and while a few of them besides Vivian Brown have also since left the channel, it's signed on a couple of new weatherwomen since. Including Liana Brackett.
Originally from Temecula, California, Ms. Brackett started out as an intern for KCRA-TV just before graduating from University of California-Davis with bachelor's degree in atmospheric science in 2009. From there she worked as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Portland, Oregon, wining numerous awards for her forecasting work.
The glamorous world of television came to call Ms. Brackett again by 2015, when she became an "ocee-em" (OCM, for "on-camera meteorologist") for KPTV-TV in Portland, and just as actors, dancers and writers dream of making it big in New York, OCMs dream of making it big in . . . Atlanta, The Weather Channel's headquarters. Ms. Brackett fulfilled that dream by joining The Weather Channel in October 2016.
