Alyssa Milano first came to our attention at the age of eleven in 1984, when she began her role as Samantha Micelli in the ABC series "Who's The Boss?", about an Italian-American live-in male housekeeper for an Anglo-Saxon family. Conceived as a vehicle for former "Taxi" star Tony Danza, whose character was also named Tony, the show proved to be beneficial to both his and Ms. Milano's careers; she played his character's daughter, and the series lasted eight years.
After several roles in various TV productions, she starred as Jennifer Mancini in the prime-time drama "Melrose Place" for forty episodes over three seasons This led to a plum role in "Charmed," about good witches who use their powers for good to the most extreme. Ms. Milano played Phoebe Halliwell, one of the charmed leading ladies for eight years beginning in 1998. She was also a producer of the series for the last four seasons.
Ms. Milano has done a few movies, but she remains best known for her work in television. She's also known for her political activism, campaigning for everything for environmental awareness to women's rights to supporting UNICEF. Anyone who has a trouble with a TV actress being so politically active had better watch out.
Alyssa Milano is not Tony Michelli's little girl anymore. ;-)
