Actress Dania Ramirez

Dania Ramirez is best known for her unorthodox character in the unorthodox NBC series "Heroes," about ordinary people with superhuman powers.

Her character, Maya Herrera, had the ability to emit poison and was able to kill the bride at her brother's wedding when it turned out that her bride was having an affair with a former lover who threatened Maya.  She could activate her power through stress or whenever she wanted to.

She also played Rosie Falta on the satirical Lifetime serious "Devious Maids," about Hispanic maids who work for the rich and powerful Hollywood elite, and, more recently, she has played Cinderella in ABC's "Once Upon a Time" series.

In the movies, Ms. Ramirez has played the mutant Callisto in the X-Men series (shades of her "Heroes" role!), and she played a bicycle messenger in Premium Rush.

Fun fact:  Dania Ramirez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and emigrated to the United States to study acting, originally settling in New York City.
