Yvonne Orji is a young comic actress with a bright future.
Ms. Orji, who was born in Nigeria and came to the U.S. as a little girl with her parents, stars in the new HBO series "Insecure," about twentysomething black women trying to deal with strife in their personal and professional lives from what is desceribed as "an accessible seriocomic perspective." Comedy Central alumnus Larry Wilmore created the show with Issa Rae, who stars in the show. Mrs. Orji plays Molly.
Yvonne Orji also did a sitcom pilot called "First Gen," a semi-autobiographical show about an immigrant daughter who like its star, forsakes a career in medicine for one in comic acting.
