The Beauty of Sport, Part Three: Ice dancer Madison Chock

At 21 years of age as of this writing (she turns 22 in July 2014), Madison Chock is a rising star in ice dancing, a sport Americans have begun to excel in on the international level only recently.

As a teenager, Ms. Chock competed first with partner Greg Zuerlein from 2006 to 2011, co-winning the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final championship and the 2009 World Junior championship, and co-earning the U.S. national bronze medal with him in 2011.  She now competes with Evan Bates (seen with her below), with whom she won the silver medal in the U.S. national ice dancing championship two years in a row (2013 and 2014).

Madison Chock and Evan Bates also competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.  Although they left without a medal, I wouldn't be surprised to see them at the 2018 Winter Games in Pyeongchang.

Ms. Chock owes her exotic looks to a father of Hawaiian and Chinese descent and a mother of multiple European ethnicities.
