British actress Jane Seymour

To call Jane Seymour a veteran actress is an understatement. The television and film credits she's amassed since playing Solitaire in the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die are too numerous to list here.

To American television audiences, she's best known for her roles in miniseries based on novels, John Steinbeck's "East of Eden" and Herman Wouk's "War and Remembrance." She also played physician Michaela Quinn in the CBS series "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," about a lady doctor on the nineteenth-century American frontier.

The daughter of an English Jewish father descended from Poland and a Dutch Protestant mother, Jane Seymour was born Joyce Frankenberg in Middlesex, England, taking her stage name from the wife of King Henry VIII who bore his only son (who became King Edward VI).
